Put no limitations on what God can do in your life right where you are. Your circumstances may not be ideal, but don’t let them rob you of living. If you can see beyond what you don’t have, you can learn to enjoy what you do have. Oftentimes you possess more than you know.
Jesus said He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (See John 10:10). Naturally we think that the abundant life He speaks of must include a lot of money because in the world we live in nothing’s free. What is living if you are worried about how you’re going to keep the lights on and where the next meal is coming from?
But even a homeless man can have abundant life if he is able to receive it. That man could be blessed beyond measure if he dares to see beyond his natural predicament.
Please understand, it doesn’t mean he will always live under the bridge or in a box. It doesn’t mean he won’t ever have a home if that is what his heart desires. It just means he doesn’t have to have one to be blessed by God. He doesn’t need a home to live. He needs only to believe God.
It takes faith to see and live beyond your circumstances. Your natural mind tells you if you seek to live right where you are, you are accepting your circumstances. But actually, you are choosing neither to let them limit nor define the quality of your life.
So I encourage you today—no matter where you are in your life —live right now. Even if you are not where you desire to be, live. Take advantage of every opportunity to laugh, to lay back your head and exhale, to recline in your hammock and allow it to cradle you.
When you can, visit the places you always wanted to go and try new dishes… all while you’re still journeying toward your promised land.
Have a party with your “quail and manna” knowing the milk and honey is on the way.
